The Suzuki Philosophy
"More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children all over the world learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, etc., are some of the special features of the Suzuki approach." - For more about the Suzuki philosophy, please visit the Suzuki Association of the Americas
What We Do
Students enrolled in the Sforza Suzuki Strings Program attend 7-8 classes per semester. Each semester students perform in a solo recital and a group concert. Our December group concert is an all holiday program and our May group concert is the traditional Suzuki play-down performance. New this year is all of our Suzuki Book 4 and up students will perform in an all chamber music performance in early April. Finally, each year our Suzuki Book 1B and up through our most advanced students perform an all fiddle concert in late April.
